R.I.P. The Zone

Dude, where's my station?? After countless format tweaks and years of lackluster ratings, modern rocker "94.7 The Zone" was finally put out of its misery today. Much to the displeasure of numerous Camaro-drivin', pro-wrastlin' watchin, PS2-playin' dudes around the area, the sounds of Hoobastank, Mudvaynne and Godsmack have been replaced on 94.7FM with the wholesome sounds of The Beach Boys, The Righteous Brothers and The Dave Clark Five.

I have to say I am not a camaro driver or a wrestler watcher and am very "Disturbed" about the Zones demise. This was one of the better rock stations in the Chicago area, we are at a great loss!

How could anyone be disturbed about the loss of this crappy station. By saying "this was one of the better rock stations in the Chicago area", that's saying very little! if nothing at all! The format, lack of quality artists, and all around lame programming sucked!

The Zone was placed number one in many places including Calumet City, IL. I don’t know what half of you are talking about, with the ‘death’ of this station people who don’t like to hear the lame excuse for music on Q101 or KISS-whatever, and does anyone even listen to B96 anymore? The Zone was a welcomed change for those of us who like Metal/Rock in a world of pop-rock, “alternative,” and rap. I’m only 19, I don’t want to hear this crap from the 60’s, I also don’t want to be mulled by “man-cow” every morning on my way to school/work, or by the rest of these lousy talk shows. It’s sad that the only good station on the radio is now gone.
