Commercial Radio Sleaze
I'm generally not big on forwarded articles in emails or on blogs, but Salon has a great feature story today about how money dictates what music gets played on commercial radio. Not that this fact is any sort of major revelation, but it still is a bit shocking when you see the specific figures needed to play the commercial airplay game. If you have any friends that still naively believe that local DJs and music directors have control over what songs and bands get played on mainstream radio, PLEASE forward them this article.
